I just followed the procedure in my manuals for jet centering - really no big deal - just make sure the needle falls into the jet without resistance. When I removed the fuel bowls and jets, I reset the jets by adjusting them all the way up, then backed off 2 turns. As my lifting pin is gummed up I couldn't set the mixture (how much of the needle is exposed at idle) according to the manual so I devised my own method. I then test drove the car on the 2 turns down starting point setting, and adjusted them further to get just on the rich side of the stumbling point (lean). Balancing was done by listening to the carbs with a section of tube (as per manual)...they run just fine and there isn't all that much that can go wrong. I will reset the mixture when I get the lifting pins loosened up.
