As far as I know, it is not that easy with these DANA axles. Front to back of the Pinion and the side to side of the Carrier has to be shimmed.
THe one you are transferring out of the 'bad' axle might be close and it might work but it wont be perfect and it will probably whine. It's not the end of the world for race day but I wouldn't want keep it that way for a daily driver.
