You mean it's NOT GOING INTO overdrive. It's stuck in 3rd gear.
Any failure in this system results in the overdrive not working.
Usually it's electrical. While you're under the car to look at the shifter bushings (other message), inspect the white wire from shifter, over the top rear of the transmission, and to the OD solenoid.
Most likely cause of failure is the relay, but it's important to see if the white wire is damaged and possibly shorting out against the shift linkage or transmission.
The relay is behind the left side of the glovebox. Remove 7 phillips head screws and pull out the glovebox. Relay is a white box, about 1 inch x 2 inch to the left of the glovebox. Part number is 3523804.
