It's done with shims. The procedure is spelled out in the 700/900 FAQ:

It seems to me I've seen some parts supplier(s) like IPD that will "loan" (deposit required?) you an array of shims of varying size to make the adjustments, then you just purchase the ones you actually use. I haven't personally done it though, so I'm not sure on that one.
