Just get a couple of self tapping screws and start them in where you are trying to put the screwdrivers. Make sure that they are in far enough to spread the joint but not so far that they will interfere with the splined shaft going in there. Make sure you have it started straight and then just tap it into place with a long punch and a hammer from underneath. I put the screws in before I start and shoot a little penetrating oil on it and it is a piece of cake at that point.
