Bit more of an update 200 1984

Hi Chris,

I kinda hate to break it to you, but that bit of euphoria generated by the starting fluid may be toxicological as well as psychological. You knew you had spark, and if you did, you know the timing belt is there, so sure it will run on externally injected fuel.

But - if the ECU is not supplying the ground to the fuel relay, it may also not be supplying the juice to open the injector valves. This depends on the ignition signal from the coil negative arriving safely at pin 1 on the ECU, and of course, a good ECU.

Check out that wire -- a thick gray coaxial wire. If you are careful, you can backprobe pin 1 on the ECU while cranking (yeah I know, the battery...) with your test light, to see pulses that should arrive from the ignition circuit. If that checks out, your main suspect is that expensive little box you replaced before. Care to comment on my two suggestions that it may have become wet? Just tell me it is dry, no evidence of water, and the pins on the harness plug all look the same. You're so close to fixing this, you're right on top of it.
