Take out that spring, rig up a prop-up rod along the side of the engine compartment?

I have to admit, I usually don't drive my PV when it is upper 90's and as humid as a sponge. Like it is right not here in St. Louis. Sort of turns it into a spring/fall sort of car. Winter - salted roads will eat it, summer you will melt.
