Open the air filter box and see if it is wet. If so, repalce it. Use ONLY a MANN filter.

Then see if there's any wetness in the bottom of the box, where the filtered air goes on into the engine. Water in there will be a clue as to whether or not water got into the cylinders.

Exhaust smoke rule of thumb:

Blue smoke = burning oil.

Black smoke = too rich a mixture, not able to burn all the gas.

White smoke = water vapor or steam. Often means water in the cylinders.

Those are not precise, just tips on where to look for if problem.
