Strange Outcome. 120-130

Thanks everyone. I went out and remeasured my stub axel and it is indeed 5 on 4.5 using any method described in this thread (I used dividers to be sure). The problem was one of my wheels has a smaller bolt circle. I can't explain it (the other wheels all checked out to be 5X4.5 as expected, but perhaps it is from a 140 series.

Sorry for the trouble.

I have one wheel that is larger 4.5" wide and I was using this as my mock-up wheel for my welding jig. I actually thought they were all 4.5 wide. The rest of my collection are all 4" wide - and have the correct bolt pattern. So my wider wheel must be off a later vehicule (the centre's are all the same and have Volvo Import stamped on them).

I guess I pulled the one different one out of the group - why is it that if you have 5 wheels, you'll try to fit the one that doesn't fit. Honest, they all look identical and the amount they are off is just enought to cause a head-scratching session.

I'll keep you all updated on my wheel widening adventure now that I know I have the right wheels.

Cheers,
Craig
