Radiator Fixed 120-130

I found a crusty radiator guy who has had his own shop in the same place for the past 35 years. He said he was tied up until next week but if I pulled the radiator and brought it in, he would take a look.

The neck was heated and pulled as everyone suggested. The tank itself had a crack just below the neck. A whole bunch of cleaning and brazing later she was back together and water tight again.

The side supports were found to be disconnected from the bottom tank so those were rebrazed onto the tank too. He suggested that they might rub if left loose and wear the bottom tank walls.

Then he flushed the radiator inside and out. Plenty of brown liquid drained from inside the radiator. He must have spent over a half hour working. Total cost: $10.

The work was done at Koogles Radiator Repair in Hagerstown, MD. Highly recommended if you ever need rad work and are in the area.

After stopping to take better half to the Pirates 2 movie as promised, the radiator was reinstalled, heater opened, engine flushed, and topped off with antifreeze, water and water wetter. No apparent leaks. Looks like its good for another 40 years.

Thanks to all who replied.
