If you're adept at soldering small things, you can reflow the solder on the relay circuit board and more times than not it will fix it. Same goes for the radio suppression relay and overdrive relay. The solder joints are more likely to crystalize with age and break the circuit rather than the contact points burning and failing. You probably need a good magnefying glass to see the weal solder joint. I believe there is mor info in the 700/900 FAQ on this procedure.
