M-41 failure? 140-160 1974

the layshaft is involved in all gears except 4th, so indeed... bad bearings in there is likely, though I'd think it would make more noise in 1st as well...

I'm guessing the bearings deep inside the output shaft gears... That sounds fairly similar to mine, and if you take the cover off, likely one of them gears will wobble noticably...

Just a guess...

As for the shaking at or above 60... I'd think more likely something in the driveshaft, but without seeing it, it'd be hard to call.
