Paulii you are so right. I can't tell you how many times I have taken a vehicle in for service (under warranty) and given the service writer a sheet of paper describing exactly under what conditions a noise or other problem will occur and have asked them to give it to the technician to aid them in finding the problem. I know how difficult it is to find an intermittent problem. Almost always I get a call saying they couldn't duplicate and the invoice says 'check for noise' (or something similarly vague) with no other detail. I then ask to talk to the tech who worked on the car and I ask him if he saw my detailed description of the issue and they always say 'no'. I cannot tell you how many times this has happened to me. Ford, Volvo, .....brand doesn't seem to matter. I don't have much good to say about most service writers....... .
