I had been plagued by a similar problem for over a year. There are a couple of cheap R&Rs you can do to eliminate all but a major problem like the control module. It could be the:
Hi temp switch located on either the side or back of the compressor. These are not replaceable except when replacing the compressor. You can by-pass it as the compressor seldoms fails on these cars and even if it did with not switch, what have you lost? (I'd do this last.)
Either or both Schrader valves. One is located in front of the radiator, depending on the model year and the other at the fill point.
The orifice valve (a real cheap roule out).
Mine is now solved and turned out to be the last item, but I now know that the Schraders won't clog either.
You might also dust of the sensor in the overhead light. It gets dusty and causes wacky readings.
