Insulating a/c lines

The high pressure line is insulated in my home and I see no reason why cars should be any different. BTW, my Jeep Wrangler has insulated lines on both sides, except at the 90degree angle above the passengers left foot. The condensation there drips right on to the left foot.
Any hardware store sells foam insulation for 1/2 inch pipes. The only problem is keeping the tape on there when engine compartments get very hot and melts the glue.
