Stuck, please help 700 1989

I've had the vacumm hose of but haven't found any gas there. Yes the spark plugs were wet. I am looking into the pulse generator ie. flywheel pick up. The volvo manual states the resistance across the generator should be 240 +- 25 ohms. Mine was somewhere in the neighborhood of 175 but I wasn't certian of the meter at that point. I have checked it againts some resistors in my sons science kit and the meter I fairly accurate. Since the book doesn't state what to do if the resistance is off I would suspect it will have to be replaced.
