Your year group is prone to engine wiring harness rot. Known problem if yours is original. Causes lots of symptoms. First tell tale sign is the grounds on the intake manifold. Insulation is breaking down. But maybe your generic coil it the problem. Have you found the FAQs here? Upper right corner, select link, scroll down to 700/900faq. A wealth of info.
