Cold temperatures and shocks?

I have Bilstein HDs on my 745 and in all honesty they are too harsh in general, not just in the winter. On low speed runs around town, they seem to transmit every paving irregularity. On the highway, not as bad. In my 940s, I've used either Boge Turbo or Boge Pro Gas. The former is just about perfect in terms of shock damping vs. performance vs. comfort; the latter is identical to OEM. In the winter (around here, averaging -10 to 0 C), they all stiffen a little bit.
