U-joint question 444-544

Hi guys. I recently replaced the center u-joint on my '56 PV 444. It was a bit of a challenge, however, I got the job done. After screwing the grease fitting into the u-joint, I used a grease gun to lubricate the bearings, unfortunately, the grease oozed out only from the bearing closest to the grease fitting. Is this an indication of improper installation? The aft u-joint was replaced by the previous owner or a mechanic and it did the same thing when I tried to lubricate it. Thanks for any response.
