Question on the stereo amplifiers under the steering column 700 1990

Are you getting power (12v)to the amp.
It gets a power suppy from the arial wire from the radio.
(also goes to the dash switch if you have one)a red wire if I can remember correctly.
This turns the amp on when you turn the radio on.
It's very quiet if you don't have this power source.
