Off to the salvages this morning, the suggestions about the rebuilt ones are correct in a sense, and I looked into a rebuild a while ago.
The thing is, I want to keep, and rebuild, the starter on the car now. It is out of a fairly late B-20 and has never been run for long periods, the B-18 always starts easily. I doubt that there is anything wrong with it except normal bearing/brush/commutator wear and I have plenty of oilite stock, not to mention some really fancy graphite scraps laying around.
Cheers!
