Another radio question 444-544

I posted the pictures on Gabe's radio question, so you can see what at least a circa 1960 radio looked like. I suppose if you find a replacement radio and if the faceplate will hide the hole, you could fabricate a metal plate to fit behind the dash (with the proper 3 holes) that would be held in place by the control shafts and the grounding strap. If this does not work, then I'm sure a body shop could repair the hole, similar to how they repair a car's metal body (weld in a patch and smooth out). This would only be practical if you removed the dash.
