Firstly don't ever think that the 16v has any deficiency in starting in cold weather. I have one, and those couple years of extreme canadian cold it went through were completely flawless.
As a dual cam design, it has a harder time cranking... than the b230f. I would definately make sur eyou use regular to lighter weight oil in the winter - recommendation depending on your weather and outside temp.
Check the codes. Refer to the FAQ for the procedures.
If you have any drivability problems (stalls, hesitations, etc..) mention those, it helps diagnose.
