I almost bought a used engine from a 240 from a mechanic who said I can put it in my 740. He gave me some bullshit saying a 240 engine is slightly better since the 240 distributor is on the side it responds faster to the engine timing (does 240 distributor have hall sensor to sense engine rotation?). This guy also tried to sell me that engine with water in the crankcase and some milky colored oil.
But anyway, my 740 has CPS, so that is independent of a hall sensor. If a 740 relies on a distributor hall sensor, is that compatible with a 240 distributor?
