Another 240 problem 200 1990

Do you hear the fuel pumps kick on momentarily when you turn the key to the On position?

If not, have you jumped the left side of the #4 fuse to the left side of the #6 fuse (I think I have that right) to see if the fuel pumps kick on and run? If they do, does the car start while the pumps are running?

If the fuses are good and the car starts with the fuses jumped, the problem is fuel pump relay or ECU.

Last summer, the ECU died on my '90. The failure mode is that it fails to provide the ground that the fuel pump relay needs to activate. Although Lucid explained how to build a circuit to replace the failed transistor in the ECU, I whimped out and bought a rebuilt ECU.

A few weeks after the ECU failed, my fuel pump relay failed. That also results in a failure mode like the one you described.
