Ok, now we are on the same page,and I see where you are going with it.

Track for 72-1800= 1310mm 51.6" {1800 E/ES 1972 Green Book}
I re-measured my ES wheel you are correct it is 15x5.5x 40mm offset
Wheel to wheel 47 & 5/16 + 2 @ 4 & 7/16" Backspaces = 8 & 14/16" {740 alloys}
=56 & 3/16 Hub to hub,is what I measure on the 145
Wheel lip measures 1/2 {ES Steel wheels}
Backspace measures ,4 & 13/16 {ES Steel Wheels}

The 315-35-17 diameter of 25.68 looks good.
I saw an ES with stock wheels that was running
205-70-15's and the guy said they didn't rub.
