Hi Tim, I was having a high NOX situation a couple years back but when I tried to advance my timing I was only able to turn the distributer to get me about 10˚when I actually was looking for 12 or 13 (12 was specified for my 230F). Maybe your mechanic had the same problem and this is why you only got to 10˚here. I'm not sure how to compensate for this situation though (i.e. what else could one do to get to 12 if the distributer stops you at 10?)
