My first Volvo, a '68 142S, had two different front guards, it took me a while to notice, because you can't see both sides at the same time. I wish I kept that car, it had a B18B that just wouldn't explode no matter how much I tried & it's replacement turned out to be a bigger rust bucket. It was white with a brown velour interior in it & a pair of funky head rests that I think would have come out of a P1800. It had a overdrive originally, but when I got it, all that remained was the badge on the boot & the 4.56:1 diff.
'73-'74 front guards would be a third type.
