Wehehehehellll while residing out of my home country such an thing virtually happened to MY 85 244. Flame trap wasn't changed. The pressure blew the back seal off, and my nephew kept right on driving while the car poured oil. The engine got hot enough to warp the timing belt cover, and the oil was cooked to the head. The oil pump was chewed to heck, and had to be replaced.
Don;t ask me how, but the head didn't warp, and the main bearings showed virtually no wear. We replaced the pump and the bearings, and went on. Of course, this was after the car sat for about 2 waiting for me to return, and then decide what I wanted to do. I left a beautiful happy low mileage 244, and came back to a nightmare.
So, it happens....
