This is the info for generic OBDII code P0422

P0422 Main Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

Sounds like a malfunctioning rear O2 sensor or a bad catalytic convertor.

If you have a infrared thermometer gun, check the temp at the front of the cat and at the rear of the cat after a drive, there should be a minmal difference of about 100F if it's working. If you do have that, then the rear 02 sensor or wiring may be defective. If you have no change in temp from the front to the rear of the cat, you could have a bad cat.
