Once you get it broken loose, it should rotate off freely. Persons have been known to count those rotations and install the new one to a similar location by screwing it in the same number of turns. That can reduce or eliminate the need for alignment. Particularly if your tires are getting near the end of their life. Tie rod ends affect toe-in only.
