960 Wagon- How reliable?

We currently have 3 -240's in our family. We have the chance to purchase a good used 1994 960 wagon. Was the 960 series a good one for Volvo? Or should I stay away from the 960 and continue to look for a 240? How are the repairs on the 960 series- much more expensive then the 240's?
