Guys,
Thanks for your replys but all I did is repeatedly try to start w/ dead battery in garage, never was locked (in fact fobs apparentl;y need reprogramming as haven't worked for some time & their batteries good). Car battery continues to hold charge; so really am puzzled as to what precipitated alarm condition. I know batteries will hold charge for quite a while so will let you know if charging system turns out to be at fault.
Thanks,
Bob
P.S. Helping is always appreciated; I need to make an effort to get on & help others where I can. Last Winter I had discovered colored balls (transmisssion cooler in radiator had failed & was investigating - white tranny oil) in drainage pan & received help here in saving this car that is still on the road, 740 w/ nearly 300,000 miles now. That car never had any real power but was fine around town & on long trips except for bogging down abit w/ any uphill grade. That being said it is a bullet as you can still see hone marks in bores & valve clearances are spot on - this w/ only regular oil changes. Keep helping others ............
