I would suspect the wiring right at the relay block where the relay plugs in. The whole relay tray can be pulled out and you can check the underside and hopefully find and fix the problem.

Look at the 700/900 FAQ under "select shortcut" at the top right of this page. Find the section on relays and it will explain how to get the relay block out, and SO much more.
