People have become accustomed to looking at these cars at shows, where they have been finished by restorers, rather than a mass production factory. Originally they did have drips on parts that didn't show, and smears of glue.
It looks to me like this car has been sat somewhere where it suffered the heat of summer, the cold of winter, condensation and so on. Stuff like engine blocks will rust in those circumstances as they weren't particularly well finished in the first place. The stuff on the interior chrome is classic poor storage.
I'd bet that when this car was pulled from wherever it came from it was absolutely filthy dirty.
What strikes me as odd is: where did it come from, who had it all these years, why was it never registered? A clear credible story adds value to something like this and I don't really understand why the story behind it isn't being told.
I guess the real issue for whoever buys it will be what to do with it, once you start to fettle it its stops being factory original. Clearly driving it in anger on 40 year old tyres would be insane. Its a strange one.
