Coolant getting into crank case.

Sounds like head gasket. Stop leak may work for a short time, but if the leak is even slight it will fail. Fortunately, a new DIY head gasket job is not that expensive or complex: see the FAQ. Even if a shop did the work, you are only looking at $650 or so.
