coil sparking but in the wrong place... 120-130

Thank you Planetsman. I'll get hold of another coil to test with. So if I connect the tester coil as you said the engine should fire as the last connection is made, right?

A couple of questions:

Does it matter at what point I connect the large wire into the tower (first/last?)
Can I run like that for a few miles to get to a motor mechanic who will replace the coil, or is this purely a testing situation?
