Before it gets colder, see if this is possible -

Drape over the front end a large old blanket, quilt, tarp, something to keep the wind from blowing under the car.

Get your trouble light, or something with a socket, and put in the highest wattage bulb you have. Got two? More is better.

Get power out there, and get that light under the sump. Put the bulb up on a Corningware pan or something equally heat resistant.
