My 240 update.. potentially VERY bad development 200 1989

Ugh.. replacing heater cores.. how hard is that?

Never had to do that one, though I do see posts about it's difficulty.

I have looked in that area, and it seems there is a sort of pocket in the back of the air plenum where the core fits. Then there is the need to disconnedt the tubes, which look to be copper.

The core and tubes are copper, which might have a little more "give" than the cast iron block. I would add a bit of antifreeze to the coolant, so as to smell the stuff if the core does leak. Otherwise, do nothing about it until you get the engine running. Then see what you smell.

Good Luck,

Bob
