odometer 200 1991

Sorry I don't know what will fix the odometer but I do know that you should disable the gear mechanism that tracks miles between oil changes. This mechanism puts an additional load on the gear train, especially when the counter gets wound up against spring tension towards the point where it attempts to activate the bulb on cluster. The extra strain helps to chew up the plastic gear teeth that break.

The gear + switch thing is on left side of cluster, with a reset lever that tilts the assembly away from engagement with its drive gear.

Two ways to disable:
1) Cut the three small wires going to the assembly and remove the assembly. It slides right off its mount post after releasing a little catch. I haven't done this but I trust the guy who told me I could.
2) Remove the coil spring, then tilt assembly away from gear engagement as in resetting it. Use some hot glue to hold it in this position to keep drive gear disengaged.
