Odd Radio Problem 200 1989

Sounds like Master Reset (turning off and reapply of power) solves your problem. What that does is reset the computer inside the radio. So most likely that is issue you are having. Maybe double check the crimps on the constant power (Yellow or Yellow Black) and switched power (Red) for a loose connection in the crimp. Check for a loose crimp on the Black wire on the ground connection.

The only reason to add another ground is sometimes you can reduce hiss or humm adding a chassis connection connection from your receiver to an external amp. But since this is a all in one not an issue.

Easy change out is to buy the same brand of radio and take the old one out and add the new one in. No connector change out and is quickly done.

Good Luck,

PT
