Hello again,
You know how to disassemble the head and remove the valves themselves, right? Once you have them out, it will only take 1/2 hour or so to lap them. You'll need a lapping tool (cheap; available at Sears, etc) and some lapping compound (available at Napa; you'll want the premixed stuff, not the powder). Turn the head upside down and install one valve at a time, with the lapping tool stuck to the valve face (if you've never seen one, the lapping tool is pretty much just a dowel with a suction cup on the end). Apply some lapping compound to the valve seating surface and turn the valve back and forth in your fingers with the lapping tool (like you see people on TV trying to start a fire with a stick :) With only light pressure (don't push down on the valve), do this on each valve until the seating surfaces are clean and shiny. As I sid, it's painfully easy and makes a world of difference (they seal completely after lapping, since it removes any carbon and junk on the seating surfaces). Anyway, I'm glad to help in any way that I can. Let me know what else I can do.
