Is my oil level low enough that I should add more oil?

I prefer to keep the oil right at the top. With our cars (a bit on the older side), we check the fluids and tires every week. I do not like the idea of a leak catching me by surprise.

I think that you will find that the "normal" area is more than one quart, and that 1/2 quart will not fill your car.

I would add a 1/2 quart and check it next week.
