I've an electrical issue and its not my strongest area.

When I turn the ignition to run position my parking lights and dash lights/heater control lights come on even if the light switch is in "off" position. I've checked the switch and even swapped out another switch and it still does the same thing.

I've looked at the schematic and would like some advise as to where to start trying to find where this is shorting out the switch. A little confusing to me as the switch definitely keeps the circuits open in the "off" position so why these two circuits are energized when the key turned is a mystery.

Thanks for any help. Even the most basic advise for circuit chasing will be appreciated, thought I had a handle on it but obviously don't.
