I don't know of any machine shops but I know a couple of great repair shops would probably be willing to give their 2 cents.
Glasgow's on University near the capitol, everyone's favorite indy volvo shop.
Further Performance in NE Mpls, Tristan is an Audi/VW guy who is into performance work along with general repair/maint.
