Which Volvo wagon to shop for?

It is a matter of opinion, surely, but I would opt for the later year 240 in order to enjoy safety improvements such as ABS and SRS, better corrosion protection, quieter interior, without sacrificing all that good knowledge gained maintaining the 86.

A 740 guy will tell you the cargo door is wider, but my head rubs on the headliner in 7/9 cars. I wonder if is enough wider to accomodate 48" materials?
