"I think his question was a lack of availaility of disks when they are worn."
And, they are very expensive once found. I have asked the same question with no response. I've searched the archive and didn't find an answer either.
Next week I will measure the disks and spindles from the 240 and the 120 for ID, OD, and taper. I will compare the bearings and then research whether commonly available bearings to match the 240 disk with the 120 spindle can be obtained.
It may be that the disk ends up in a different plane when a 240 hub is mounted to a 120 spindle. It may be that it lines up. If so, the only change necessary would be the bolt pattern. If not, we will know what machine operations would be necessary to mount a 240 disk to a 120 spindle. And, either way, we will have an answer to the question.
