It depends on whether the shell has distorted, what else is damaged. Frankly this thread is useless without photos.

You should go and talk to a reputable experienced accident repair shop.

Personally though if it's borderline in the opinion of an experienced body guy, then I'd thank my lucky stars your daughter is OK and go find a Volvo who's structutal integrity isn't compromised
