You have to wonder at the mentality of whoever was driving that car. Surely they must have noticed it getting hot? To effective ruin a car for want of stopping and replacing a part that costs pocket change is just madness.
Still it got you a parts car, every cloud has a silver lining.
Bit like the V90 I'm working on, the owner had it serviced by the main dealer, who fitted 2 new Pirellis, a power steering pump and a waterpump and gave it a full service just 1000 miles ago. It then chucked out a load of water and a blown engine was diagnosed. The owner threw his toys out of the pram and drove it into the scrap yard, where it has sat for 2 1/2 years.
We looked at it the other day, the engine is fine, some numpty forgot to tighten up one of the waterpump bolts, hence the leak!
