Update on this problem 200

I trust that you have found another mechanic, maybe not Volvo-specialized but at least honest.

A tiny scratch on a shaft where the seal fits will leak. BTDT. The scratch might be removable, but takes a lot of time. Use 400-grit emery paper, gently, for a few hours. Even then it still may leak. The other option is another camshaft. Junkyard, with just a little luck.

Good Luck,

Bob

PS: Rear main seal leak indicates you may still have a clog in the PVC system. At idle, the smaller hose from the flame trap cup provides the vacuum. The brass fitting where that hose connects to the intake manifold clogs up easily. Be sure it is really clear, use a finger-twirled 3/32-inch twist drill.
